The word is that there is good fishing going on right now at Waadah Island and Umatilla Reef. Also, there are some very nice fish out at Blue Dot. This information comes from the local commercial fleet and that usually means good fishing for everybody! So be ready and call in now for your moorage reservations or book that Charter Trip. US HALIBUT OPENER!!
This just in...
We have one more day of US Halibut! The opener will take place this Thursday, June 28, 2007 as a ocean fishery only. This was just decided by the 'STATE' this morning. Come on out for a weekend of fun, pictures and fond memories!

Wow! That was a great US Halibut Derby we had here. Congratulations to all of our winners! Now I would like to say "Let us not forget about our youngest and favorite anglers of all time!" Our Kids...
Neah Bay is having their 3rd Annual Kids Bottom Fish Derby on the 4th of July!!! It starts at Daybreak and will end @ 5:00 p.m. Then Hot Dogs, Chips and Pop will be served directly after!! Also, we will be having the most awesome fireworks show that same evening (Join us on our deck for some ooooing and ahhhhing together!) The prizes for this year's derby will be ipods, Game Boys, Scooters, Bikes and Fishing Poles. To win these prizes you must be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place for the Biggest Ling cod, 1st, 2nd, 0r 3rd Place for the Biggest Black Seabass and then also for the Biggest Bottom Fish (other than Ling Cod or Black Bass) Sounds Exciting to me! Here are the Big Salmon Fishing Resort's 3rd annual halibut derby Winners
1). Matt Tennant Won $1,500.00 (110 pound halibut).
2). Gary Peterson Won $580.00 2nd. place halibut (109 pound halibut).
3). Shelley Horsley Won $200.00 for the largest lingcod.
4). Josh Frunz Won $175.00 for the seabass.Thank you all for making it a great derby!

The Halibut Repot:
The water is flat the fish are biting and we have already weighed in a 110 lb and 93 lb Halibut for our Derby 1st Place is $1500 and you still have time to enter. The biggest Ling cod so far is a 23 lber That prize is $200 for Biggest Ling. Our US Halibut Derby goes through Saturday June 23rd untill 6:00 p.m. weigh in. Looks like it could be a very fishsy day today and Saturday should be an awesome day for fishing also. Remember that on Saturday June 23rd you can fish all over, except the closure to the south Umatilla area. So we expect to be a little better and have alot more action in the days to come.

Daniel Tejano has been selling gear like crazy! And we are happy to say that the regulars are here and enjoying the first day of the halibut derby. It was really quiet around here for about two weeks but we are happy to say that the Neah Bay fishermen are back in town!
Anthony (A.B.) and Jacki are now running the "HIGH-LINERS GRILL" and everyone seems to enjoy having them around to feed them some GOOD AND FAST FOOD!
It is the first day of the "Big Salmon Fishing Resort's 3rd. Annual Halibut Derby" here are the results of a great day of FISH'N! The weather was GREAT ... like a lake out on the ocean!
1). Garry Justo holds the first place halibut at 93 pounds.
2). James Hoch holds the second place halibut at 89 pounds.
3). Danny Linner caught a 13 pound lingcod.
4). Josh Frunz holds the largest seabass at 5 pounds.Good luck to you all and may you all catch that big one that we all dream of catching!
So for you people that are waiting around for the weekend to come.... it should be some great fishing out here in area 4, or better yet get on out here and make it the BEST DERBY that we ever put on! It is only a $20.00 buy-in per person on your boat and the buy-in is good for all three days!

It was a good weekend out here in, "THE BAY"! At first the weather report was puttin' a gray haze over the weekend ... But come to find out the weather reports had been just a little bit off.
The charter boats made it to the Canadian water and limited out. The weekend, "do it yourselvers", made it out as well! It rained a lot but after all this is Neah Bay, Washington ....not Sequim, Washington!Smile.
A group of four men came into Big Salmon oh..at about 8:00 pm Sunday evening with two nice halibut for a weigh in...one was 55 pounds and the largest one was 120 pounds, NICE! We asked the question that really doesn't get answered so often with a truthful answer..."where did you catch these nice halibut?" But .. Richard one of the fishermen in this group of four told the truth and answered, "swiftsure"
We will send this picture to the newspapers...please check~out your sports columns this weekend to see if the Newspaper guys will add it to the fishing reports section.
Our derby will be three days rather then one day....this June 19, June 21, and June 23 of 2007. So Please mark you calendar and come on out for the fun and excitement.

Hello, to all of you Neah Bay anglers!
The U.S. halibut season for June, 2007 it's getting closer by the day, Only ten more days....until we have our Big Salmon's 3rd. annual halibut derby! We have decided to extend the derby to three days rather then just one day...our reasoning, we did not know the State would give us the OFFSHORE haibut on Saturday. But all this will do is ....ADD TO ALL THE FUN AND EXCITEMENT! We hope ALL of you HIGHLINE ANGLERS show up in full force & go for the big one since *JUNE 19-23* will be IT for the Washinton States halibut fishery.
The charter boats are doing well in Canada, limiting out daily. Our Big Salmon books still have space available in June ...just call 1-866-787-1900.
Bottom~fishing report...LOTS of seabass and lings around! The fishermen are fishing greenbank, seal & sail rock,and ALL ALONG THE SHORE~LINE! We have some of the BEST fishing right off of our~back~porch come check us out!

Sorry for not being updating this website. The bottom fishing is going good out at this neck of the woods. It hadn't been very busy out here but the people who are out here fishing said that the fishing is going good. The weather has been decent. Today is a Little wet cold but the fish are still bitting. Again you may catch 2 lings and 10 sea bass. The U.S Halibut opens again on June 19th 21st
23rd. The 19th and 21st you have to stay inside of 180 feet, then the 23rd it is open all over the waters. This brings me to the Halibut derby. The Derby is going to be held on the June 19th and
June 21st. Lots of good prizes. $1,500.00 first place, 2nd gets 25% of buy-ins, $200.00 for the biggest Lingcod, $175.00 for the biggest Bass. The derby ends 7:00pm on June 21st.
Our Charter boats catching is going exellent. Lots of Canadian Halibut out there now.
