Hello Anglers,
There is set to be another halibut opener on the 4th of August in all depths of water. There is

Halibut all over and they are geting bigger by the week. Swiftshore has been loaded with the Hally's. 72

square has alot of lings and hally's. Swiftshore also has been the place to go for the bigger Coho. Kings

have been alittle spotty around the area but they have been catching a few between the Dump and

Tatoosh Island. The Green Can has a decent morning and late evening snap. Umitilla has a decent King

bite but they are in the deep water and I mean deep at least 250 feet of water and fishing that deep

on the down riggers. The whistler boey by Duncan Rock has some Coho there as well.

Today we have fishermen pouring in like the rain falling from the sky...this is the weekend to be fishing the Neah Bay waters for you can keep all type of fish out here...Bottom fish ( lingcod and seabass ), salmon, halibut, crab, cabizons, and much more.

Yesterday the charter boats went out fishing and they left our marina at 5:30 am and returned around 10:00 am so this tells me that fishing is good out here in Neah Bay. We have many reports from our fishermen that the silvers are all over the place and the kings are out there as well but you have to work to find them also the pink salmon are here too.

The lingcod are being caught out at Makah Bay and we are happy to say that we have lings and seabass open through October, 2007.

Fishing is good and we have many calls coming in with this question asked over and over and over again..." how is fishing out there? " WELL, guys fishing is always good here in Neah Bay....Way better then last year, for the salmon season!

Good luck to you all and we hope that you make your plans to come on out for some of the best fishing in the Northwest.

Today, we had a 40 pound lingcod photographed and man it was really nice, Terry White and his friend Dave Hausmann fished at Dunk'n Rock and boy much to their suprise they landed this very nice fish.

As for yesterday when the salmon fishing was open Jay Freeman, Fank Rossi and one other guy fishing with them came into Big Salmon with a report of them just catching two fish...We all started to feel bad for them and their fishing story .... until they told us that it was a 40 pound king and a 30 pound king salmon! They had been fishing the Umatilla Reef and landed these kings. I ask for more information but Jay said, " I really don't know I just reel in the fish ". GOOD ANSWER JAY.smile.

Also a Mr. Grimes said that the hot gear for salmon is green squid and hot spot flashers and that none of the fish where under 20 pounds.

We have an angler that launches daily here in Neah Bay and he said that he trolled for at least five miles and could not get out of the silver salmon school....now that is a good report!

July 22, 2007 halibut will open here in area 4 (inside and outside)

Good Luck to You all and come on out the Neah Bay for some GREAT FISHING!

HERE WE GO! The weather looks great and the tides are looking promising, our local fishermen gave GOOD reports to the local newspapers... of it being a BETTER SALMON SEASON this year!

We have had numerous fishermen check in at Big Salmon already...and today we expect even more Neah Bay anglers to check-in for moorage.

Area 4 (Neah Bay, Washington) will open up for salmon tomorrow and we are very optimistic that the salmon will be here at Neah Bay, biting the hook!

Come on out here to BEAUTIFUL NEAH BAY,WASHINGTON for a spectacular salmon season! Keep in mind that you can keep wild or hatchery kings out here in Neah Bay...and in August you can keep a total of 3 salmon...for it is a pink season this year.

Ling cod and seabass are plentiful out here also...take home an abundant amount of fish for the freezer.

We look forward to seeing you all walk through the Big Salmon doors once again....and have a great 4th of July!

From,
Big Salmon
