Salmon. The mouth of the columbia is the place to be if you are after salmon. Bouy ten to longview is were the actions at. Look for fish to start moveing up river by the first of september. Steelhead. Fishing for summer steelhead is hit or miss right now. Look for fish at the mouth of the cowits,lewis,or sandy rivers. The majority of fish are still below the dalles dam so if you are planning a trip to the klikatat or mouth of the deschutes I would wait a week or to. Sturgeon fishing below the johnday and mcnary dams is fair if you dont mind turning them loose. Walleye.Now is the time to fish for walleye if you are into eater fish good numbers are being caught below the johnday and mcnary dams fish in 18 to 24 feet. This is the time of year when just about all methods will work as the fish are very aggessive with the warm water conditions .Worm harrnesses trolled down stream,or hots lips up stream are my favorite methods. Bass. Small males are dominating the shore lines.The bigger bass have moved of in to deeper water . Look for them in 12 to 16 feet throwing crank baits or tube jigs is working very well. Im picking them up trolling for walleye. Walleye and Bass. Troll up stream with a hotlips, start in about 18 feet begin your S pattern out to about 20 feet then in to about 16 feet this should produce a mixed bag. Good luck fishing.
