01/08/2004 Entry: "Spring fishing seasons"

Happy new year to all. Sorry that it has been so long since you have heard from me. I will try to take more time to keep up on the reports. The new year is starting off a little cold in the columbia basin as it is everywhere. I will be at the Western washington sportsmans show in Puallup january 21st to 25th booth 427. As soon as I am done with the show there and Pendleton I will be back on the water after trophy walleye. The trophy season will run from the middle of febuary to the middle of april. Also I will be fishing for sturgeon and starting the first of april spring chinook and smallmouth bass. Last year was a very good year for walleye we boated several hundred fish over the year. Hopfully the water conditions will be stable enough over the spring and early summer to have another great spring fishery. The sturgeon fishing has started out slow this year not many fish being caught. Mostly bank anglers fishing in this weather. Walleye fishing is ok for bigger fish in the deep water 30 to 45 feet, but not to many people want to go out in this weather including me.So I will keep you guys up on the spring fishery as it starts to unfold. Remember with all the returning clients to book early for the dates that you would like. Keep your tip up. Bob Roberts CBGS
