Salmon season is hear and gone. Not to much to say really it was pretty slow up in the the Umatilla area. Lower than predicted runs again gave the magority of the fish to the metro anglers that hit the Bonneville area. As soon as the fish got to us the ODFW said whoops and shut it down. So were out of luck agian,Luckally we are starting to get use to it.I just wish they would do the same for us with the deer and elk. Give the east side hunters first choice tags and what ever is left everybody else could apply for second season.I better get off that subject and get back to fishing. Sturgeon fishing should really start to heat up in the next couple of weeks as the shad start into the river and the water warms and drops. Look for fish to start to really move up against the dams if they do not spill water this summer. The walleyes little post spawn should be coming to an end and the walleye are really going to go on the summer feeding frenzy. This looks like another great summer for walleye. Bass fishing is real good right now as they are moving on an off there spawning beds. Just about anywere you fish for bass right now should produce fish. Shad fishing will really get under way by the middle of June and last through mid July. Book these trips soon they are almost full as of now. Keep your tip up Bob Roberts CBGS
