Sorry anglers that I have not kept up on my fishing reports.I have a main frame problem so I am sitting in the public library doing this report while my computer is sitting at HP being fixed.
Sturgeon fishing is fair to good depending on who you ask.I have been doing fair below mcnary and am heading to the johnday to fish for a week as the shad are moving in.The fishing is going to be very good as more and more shad move in to the river. The only problem is that as soon as it gets realy good they are going to close the season on it so plan your trip soon if you are interested in keeping a fish. Best spots are going to be the deadline below Jonhday and mcnary dams. Walleye fishing is still a little slow with the water in the upper fifty degree range. In the next couple of weeks its going to get good as the water warms and the fish go on to there summer feeding frenzy. Look for the fish in the 17 to 24 foot range. My top choises are bottom walker spinner rigs or Luhr jenson hotlips for summer fishing.Dont be afraid to put your plugs back 150 to 200 feet behinde the boat. Bass fishing is good anywere you fish along the shore of the columbia between The Dalles and Boardman lots of males starting to show up but there is still big fish in those same areas. Catfishing should start to heat up to as the fish move into the shallows to feed in the evenings and into the night. Best spots are the mouth of the Yakima walla walla and Johnday rivers any stink bait will work for these fish.Good luck BR
