Salmon:
Fishing is just starting to pick up in the Astoria area look for it to be silvers first and by the end of the month the upriver bright chinook will realy be starting to move in. Up river from bonneville to the johnday dam will start to get fishy about labor day or just after.
Steelhead:
Fishing is picking up alll the way from Astoria to the Deschutes. Look for fish to be pulling out of the main river into cooler water. Cowitz Kalama Drano Klick you get the idea. The Deschutes is holding good numbers of fish for those who do not want to make the drive down river.
Sturgeon:
As far as I am concerned the fishing is pretty much over in the mid columbia. The bite has slowed down and most people are starting to go after the migratory fish (Salmon Steelhead ) although I did do real good on them last week. Pickled squid
Walleye:
Fishing has been very good for walleye just about every hole that I fish I catch fish out of.It has been all that I hoped it would be and more.It is probably going to stay good clear into late november and might stay good all winter. There is a lot of fish in the river. Target them in the 24 foot area the water is warm and they have moved out just a little into cooler water.
Bass:
Look for fish in the 12 to 18 foot range.Fishing has been good, lots of little fish. hunt a little deeper and run plugs and you will find some good fish.
Good Luck Bob Roberts CBGS
