Monday May 2:

Salmon Not much to talk about here. Went to willamete last wednesday saw about six fish caught all day. Drove over thursday to the wind river lot more fish being caught over there. We got one saw a pile caught . This is the go to place the fishing is good all day long. Be ready to fish in a real zoo of boats with this being one of the only fisherys open. I would guess there was over two hundred boats there this last weekend. The deschutes should be picking up soon if you are wanting to go bank fish.
Sturgeon: Fishing is picking up below the Johnday And Mcnary dams. Good numbers of keepers and sub legals both being caught. Little early for the over size fishery. But if you are wanting to take one home dont wait to long I heared both pools are over half way to there quota's. I dont think either pool will make it to summer. Squid is still my bait of chiose this time of year. I did do good on roll mop (pickeled herring) last week I keep both on board.
Walleye: Starting to realy slow down they have spawned and are going into there post spawn shut down. I was out two days ago and got five little males these fish are almost to small to keep. so I wont even chase them for the next month. By the first of June the summer season should start to realy kick in. Then it is a spinner deal for me in 17 to 21 feet all summer long. If you are interested in a walleye trip you need to book your summer trip soon as I am booking up.
Bass: Go it is time if you want to catch bass the next month should be great. They are starting to move up into the shallows and prepare for there spawn. Went out yesterday with the kids from the bank and caught a pile of males and some nice females. I use three inch grubs and tube baits, small cranks will work to as the water warms crayfish patterns should realy do good.
Good Luck see you on the water Bob Roberts CBGS
