June, 7th

What a wild start to the summer fishing season.Wind, rain is the weather ever going to settle down.Although the weather has kept the water temp down a little, the fish are starting there summer feeding anyway. Was out yesterday at Mcnary saw some big sturg caught, we boated one that was around nine feet.We also caught some smaller fish, although no keepers.
Sturgeon: The bite is realy picking up on the oversized fish. Use fresh hole shad or fillets for the bigger fish, and squid and roll mop (herring) for the smaller fish if you get board trying to catch oversized.
Salmon:The Season has opened back up on the columbia although these fish can be very tough to catch consistantly. Catching a few below the dams from the bank but not hearing much about salmon coming in out of the boats.
Walleye: Starting to pick up for walleye. There moving up in deph and as soon as these storms move through and it warms a little it should get great. Look for them in the 24 foot range running spinners and bottom walkers tipped with a worm down stream slow. As it warms up towrd the first of july then I would go to the cranks up stream in about 18 feet of water.
Bass: Fishing is good for bass anywere that you would normally catch them this time of year should be holding plenty of hungry fish. I am picking them up in 8 to 12 feet of water with the tubes and twister tails. Blue and silver cranks along with crawdad colors are also working very good.
As I am about to go on a long run and will be on the water almost every day for the next two months please forgive me if this is not up dated regularly.I will try to keep you posted as often as possible on what is going on. I still have some scattered dates open for July and August call soon if you are interested in booking a summer trip. Hope you have a great summer season, see you on the water. Bob Roberts
