Salmon. The mouth of the columbia is the place to be if you are after salmon. Bouy ten to longview is were the actions at. Look for fish to start moveing up river by the first of september. Steelhead. Fishing for summer steelhead is hit or miss right now. Look for fish at the mouth of the cowits, lewis,or sandy rivers. The majority of fish are still below the dalles dam so if you are planning a trip to the klikatat or mouth of the deschutes I would wait a week or to. Sturgeon fishing below the johnday and mcnary dams is fair if you dont mind turning them loose. Walleye. Now is the time to fish for walleye if you are into eater fish good numbers are being caught below the johnday and mcnary dams fish in 18 to 24 feet. This is the time of year when just about all methods will work as the fish are very aggessive with the warm water conditions .Worm harrnesses trolled down stream,or hots lips up stream are my favorite methods. Bass. Small males are dominating the shore lines. The bigger bass have moved of in to deeper water . Look for them in 12 to 16 feet throwing crank baits or tube jigs is working very well. Im picking them up trolling for walleye. Walleye and Bass. Troll up stream with a hotlips, start in about 18 feet begin your S pattern out to about 20 feet then in to about 16 feet this should produce a mixed bag. Good luck fishing. Enjoy your time on the water and remember to take your kids fishing, good luck. BR

Hello, I am bob Roberts your Columbia River Fishing Guide. WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE! I will be posting fishing reports here and telling you a little about what's going on. Please remember I am a "fishing guide" and not a "writer" so I prefer to spend my time with my fingers wrapped around a fishing rod rather than hopping across a computer keyboard so if the report you are seeing is not current it's because I am out fishing too much. The fishing here is good and sometimes too good to allow me to spend a lot of time reporting. Please call me if you need information that's up to date if you don't find it here, or better yet, call me and BOOK A TRIP now so you can join me in the boat rather than over the Internet!
Thanks again for dropping by and hoping to meet you in person!
Bob Roberts
