September 30: Guide George Hadley and I took four friends and fishermen: Don Rondema, Ron Lavehlin (503-257-8105), Cory Charon, and Chris Palmer, out today. It was a very warm 66 in Fossil at 5 AM, and 67 at the river with the water also a warm 60 degrees, 131 CFS, clear water, on an overcast day. They caught over 300 bass with Ron boating 104 smallies and joining Mah-Hah 100+ Club. Great guys and good fishing make for a super day on the water. The Outlaw Baits 5" ripple worms covered with Smelly Jelly and Ultrabite were the ticket.

September 29: I took a super guy from Sedona, Arizona, Chuck Kennedy. He had a "Jack Benny" fishing day, and boated 39 smallies on his own Zebco rods and reels. It was 40 in Fossil, 60 at the river, with the water temp at 56, 1 for clarity of water, very clear and warm day, and 125 CFS.

Guide George Hadley took Bruce Whisnant (503-799-0176) of Portland. George said Bruce was a very good fly fishermen and he proved it by catching 102 bass on top water apoppers. Lots of fish above 12" with one at 15 inches. It was a great day (George said they caught 56 bass on one popper alone).

September 27 & 28: Guide George Hadley and I took four fishermen today. Norman Davis (206-972-7515) of Mill Creek, WA; Guy and Joshua Gillis of Everett, WA; and Eric Hogan of Muckilleo, WA. They are all friends and good fishermen. In two day they boated 569 smallies with Norm leading the way at 111, and joining the 100+ Club. Great weather and lots of fish, what more can you ask for?
