October 16: This will be called the "Afternoon Delight Trip", I took good friends: Steve Becerra from San Jose, and Phil Filipelli from Manton, CA. They have fished with us many times, and were doing one of the Cast and Blasts we do with Mayville Flat Hunting Preserve. It was 42 in Fossil, 39 at the river, and the water was 51 degrees, 276 CFS, 2-3 clarity, and a clear day. We fished long and hard and had 3 smallies at lunch, but then it started. They ended up with 114 fish with Phil getting the first at about 8 AM, and the most at 61. But Steve boated the biggest. The afternoon temperatures were into the low 70's, and the fishing was non-stop once the bite was on. Fished slow and on the bottom.
