Just returned from 10 days of Trout fishing in Canada. The snow was flying and the fish were biting. We left JUST as the Mosquitos were comming out for the summer. Cooler weather this year ment a slower bite.We averaged a fish every 15 min. Most were 2-4 pounds, many were 5-6 and a couple went 8 lbs. Wooly Buggers and Muddlers were the fly we started off with every day but when the full light of day hit the water we switched to Teeny forrest green nymphs and Teeny blue and silver Leeches. We could see large pods of bright Trout that refused everything we tried untill we put the Teeny Flies on. Casting in to the pods of fish we could see them flex their fins and then charge the Teeny Flies. They were taking them on the drop. Very exciting fishing.Being able to see Large Trout getting excitied and then watching the white mouth open and close on your fly. Set the hook and hang on.Kamloops Trout are the best fighting Trout I have ever hooked.
Time to return calls. Some folks want oversize/keeper Sturgeon on the Columbia. Some want Springers on the Calckamas.Others want to Fly Fish the Deschutes. Some want both Salmon or Steelhead on the Santiam. I'll take you to the fish but YOU might not get a call back for a day or more so be patient. I'll get you to the fish.................SOON
