The Sandy remains fishable.Got a nice springer under the Bridge this morning. First Cast snag. 2nd cast too far across. 3rd cast JUST RIGHT. Fish On.Nearly a new record. Left the house and returned with fish in less than 20 minutes. Went back to bed.Wife got up to make coffe. Went for milk and I heard a small stiffled scream followed by a little laugh. Got her again ha ha. This time I left the milk in an area she could get too. She loves Salmon but objects to having to move a 25 lb King to get milk for Coffee.
Descjutes Trout fishing is getting back to normal now that the Salmon Flies are about done. Size 10 yellowTD Caddis and PMD nymphs/emergers are working good until about noon. Then the caddis are getting after my flies. This next week should be excellent. Santiam is slow for Steelhead with only 5,000 over the falls. I am turning my focus back to the Deschutes because of the poor run so far.
If I could get people on the water at 4:30 AM I could get them into nice Salmon at the Doc's hole on the Clack. Still lots of nice fish comming upriver. They move at night. You need to fish the very fast water at the top of the holes to get em.
