Fishing at the mouth of the Columbia River is Excellent. Hooking fish in the 40 lb class everyday. Lots of Coho and Chinook being caught. An average day sees us getting about 75 takes a day. This run is just getting started. Easy limits in the Ocean and it appears that ODF&W underestimated the run size again. Good. We are fishing 40 lb leaders using plug cut and whole herring. The Salmon are full of Anchovie but are very willing to take Herring. Just like humans they must appreciate a change in diet. Besides Herring are bigger and they have to chase less to get full. Very comfortable weather with the high temps between 65-75 deg. Visit the internet specials page for a great deal on a fishing trip.
