Spring rain finally arrived and the fishng has been great. Deschutes Salmon flies are out but the Trout seem to prefer the smaller golden stones. Summer Steelhead in the Clack,Santiam & Sandy are on the bite. Not many 3 salts but a very good return of 2 salts so far. With lower than normal flows in the Sandy and Clack we have seen a slow migration. This has made for good fishing. We will be Trout fishing over the memorial Day weekend and then return to the Clack for Salmon the first week in June and then over to the Santiam for Summers. Chinook are moody as ever and perhaps a little more so this year with the low flows in most systems. If you are "on em " at the precise time the fishing has been good. Most the fish are just slightly bigger than the SSsteelhead.Columbia Shad fishing is slow but will improve in the next 2 weeks. That means the OVERSIZE STURGEON fishery will get into full swing in June.
You want to try world class big game fishing ? I have it available on the Columbia River in Oregon. When was the last time you landed a 9 ' Fish ? If you can land an Oversize Sturgeon without help I will give you a Pisces Expeditions T- Shirt. You will have earned it. Of course you need to be in my boat to qualify.Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Remember those who sacraficed their lives so you can complain.
God Bless America.

Fished the PONDS on Friday and landed over 20 trout in excess of 3 lbs. One strain was highly colored and in good condition. The Kamloops triploids were chrome bright and excellent fighters. With the moon near full we could have caught them all night. The Kamloops did not start hitting untill 8 PM. Midges under a dry indicator and muddler minnows did the trick. I had to go to my 5 wt as these fish were just too hot for my 10' 3wt.Guided trips to the PONDS are still availaable.
